The mission of the ASSIST Agency is to raise the standard of living and improve the quality of life for low-income individuals, families, and communities in Southwestern Louisiana.

My name is Jane and the ASSIST Agency has been the biggest help in my life of all times. I have been blessed in multiple ways. Ms. Lisa who works for ASSIST has been the one handling my file. She has helped out with rent deposit, light deposit, light bill, and my rent paid in full for three months.
I was staying in hotels and with my mom for over 1½ years off and on. You never know how much your house means to you until it’s gone and you are on the street and you can’t hardly sleep. Thanks to the ASSIST Agency, Ms. Lisa and, first of all God, and to my landlord for participation in the program.
I found out about the program when I was about to be on the street. I was staying at a hotel when I called the landlord and that’s when his wife told me about the program. She asked me to speak to Ms. Lisa and that they had a house for rent. I got in just in time– the program was about to end. Ms. Lisa rushed herself to put my file together because she wanted to help me. I can’t thank her and ASSIST enough. Thank yall so much. I can truly say and see that I am really blessed. Ms. Kercia has really been a big help, too, by sitting there and listening and helping me through rough times with words of inspiration and truth to keep succeeding in life. Thank yall so much.
